Connected Messaging

The FleetConnect Connected Navigation Device(CND) connects to the Internet via the mobile data network. This connection allows users to input messages into the CND unit or the Web site and send them. The user on the CND unit will be alerted when a message arrives and they can view and respond to the message at their convenience. The messages are flagged as read or unread. A user can reply to the messages, they can delete the message and they can create their own messages. All messages status's are recorded at the web site for audit purposes.

All messages are stored in "threads" so it is easy to see conversations that have gone on between users. If a recipient replies to a message then the reply is attached to the thread making it easier to follow messages over a period of time.

The web administrator can setup a list of response messages that the handheld user can use in the subject line instead of typing common message responses such as "On my way", "Read and understood", "Will arrive there at.." etc. This list is then sent  to each device for them to use.

The Web Administrator can also setup user names and passwords that the users can use to log ito the system for sending and receiving messages.
