Connected Tracking

The FleetConnect Connected Navigation Unit(CND) when powered on is constantly connected to the mobile Internet and on a regular basis sends back a heartbeat indicating the state of the device and the current GPS location of the CND unit.

The FleetConnect Website allows a web user to "see" where their CND units are using street level mapping. The maps display the last know location of the CND units and can also overlay other information such as tasks assigned to the unit. A web user can also display a historical view of the CND units locations.

The information in the heartbeat indicates if the unit was connected, the state of the battery, the units IP address and signal strength of the CND unit. If the unit has a GPS fix then the GPS information includes the direction the vehicle is heading in, its speed, altitude, location and number of satellites visible.

Using FleetConnect Connected Tracking a user can monitor and manage its workforce during the day helping to maximise efficiency and improve customer service levels and response capabilities.
